Common questions

Tree Trimming FAQ

01.When is the best time to trim trees?+
For most deciduous trees, late fall through early spring — when the tree is dormant — is the safest and most effective window. Some flowering trees do better trimmed right after bloom. We'll advise on timing for your specific species.
02.Is tree trimming the same as tree topping?+
No, and we don't top trees. Topping — cutting large limbs to stubs — damages tree structure, causes rapid decay, and creates long-term hazard. We use proper pruning cuts that promote healthy regrowth and maintain the tree's natural form.
03.Do you clean up after trimming?+
Yes. All cut material is chipped on-site and hauled off the property. We don't leave brush piles or debris behind. The job isn't done until the yard looks better than when we arrived.
04.Can you trim branches near power lines?+
We handle branches near structures, rooflines, and low-voltage lines. For branches touching high-voltage utility lines, we'll advise you to contact your utility provider, as that work requires special certification.
